Based out of Colorado, USA, Mosaic are a brand that specialise in hand-crafting metal bikes. They’ve been making them since 2009 when founder Aaron Barcheck left Dean Titanium Bicycles to form his own company.
Mosaic make bikes from two materials: steel and titanium. They also make road, mountain and ‘cross bikes and so have a wealth of experience and versatility with their two chosen mediums.
This one was built for our shoot by Prestige Cycles down in Brighton, who also happen to be the UK source for Mosaic bikes. And, as you can see, they’ve done a pretty amazing job.
The other thing is Mosaic don’t make off-the-peg bikes, they tailor each frame to the specific needs of a rider. That means you go through a fit before ordering, and the measurements – over the course of time – are changed into a beautiful bike frame.
The Mosaic RT-1 Limited Edition is the brand’s top flight titanium race bike. It’s built around a lightweight double-butted titanium frame.
That frame is paired to Enve’s Road 2.0 fork, a 350g piece of carbon beauty that retails at a cool £350, that’s £1 for each gram. Until you cut the steerer tube, of course.
