Accessories means everything else. And what’s that? Well, pedals, turbo trainers, luggage, power meters, computers, lights, action cameras, tools and pumps. Yep, it’s a lot.
Some of these are vital – winter riding without lights, for example, is asking for trouble, and you’ll struggle to get going without pedals – while others, like action cameras, are optional extras. But in cycling, like in life, it’s often the little things that are the most enjoyable.
The power meters are what will catch the eye here. There’s been an explosion of choices in the market recently and where once you had SRM or, er, SRM there are loads of players in the game now. And that means prices are being driven down by that competition all the time, which is all the better for consumers.
Accessories might be the most fun of all the categories in the RCUK100. It’s like an Aladdin’s Cave of things you never knew you needed, and some you already have but maybe fancy changing. Probably best to hide the wallet before you continue.
