With three routes on offer on 25th September 2011, Access Sport’s Ride Around London sportive has something for everyone on two wheels; those who don’t fancy a long road ride can tackle one of three trail rides, each taking in quiet lanes and towpaths in the vicinity of the finish area at the River Lea Country Park.
The middle route, recce’d recently by a group including members of the Cycling Club Hackney as well as youth racing star Germain Burton and father Maurice of De Ver Cycles, covers 60 miles and starts from Windsor’s Alexandra Park while the full 115 mile route starts at Herne Hill velodrome and takes in the Olympic Road Race climb of Box Hill.
Entry to the event is priced at £28 for the road routes and £10 for the trail rides. As the sportive is also a fund-raising exercise for Access Sport, it is hoped that entrants will raise £50 or more per person.
Entries are still available at accesssport.org.uk
