After years in the UK wilderness, Jamis Bicycles are set to return after Evans Cycles announced it has secured exclusive distribution of the brand.
Jamis Bicycles’ history dates back to the 1970s when the company first released its Beach Cruiser model, quickly followed by its first mountain bike and the Dakota, Dakar and Durango ranges.
And for Jamis’ return, highlights include the go-anywhere Reynolds 520-framed Bosa Nova tourer (£749.99) and the no-holds-barred Xenith Pro full carbon race machine (£2249.99).
“Jamis is very excited to have Evans, one of the top chains in the world, represent our bicycles in the UK,” said Jamis Bicycles director of international sales Mark Aspromonte.
“We are confident that our approach to building excellent bikes – no gimmicks, no gadgets, no-nonsense, no-compromise – combined with the professionalism and strength of Evans will be a formula for success in the UK cycling market.”
Evans managing director Mike Rice added: “Jamis is a very strong and welcome addition to our exclusive bike brand portfolio. With reliable and consistent distribution via our unique UK framework and an enviable depth and breadth of models on offer, we very much look forward to enjoying the same success the brand has experienced in other countries globally.”
The bikes will be available from mid-December through Evans’ network of 42 stores, online at www.evanscycles.com and via mail order.
