Billed as the ‘The oldest existing cycle race in the world’, the Catford Cycling Club has hosted a hill climb since 1887. 

This year the 115th edition of the race, which takes place on Yorks Hill in Kent, was won by defending champion Robert Gough of the Arctic Premier RT.

Gough shaved 8.9 seconds off last year’s winning time to retain his title, beating a host of professionals with Team Raleigh’s Dan Fleeman second and Rapha Condor’s Kristian House fourth.  

Meanwhile, Germain Burton won the Bec Hill Climb – at just 15 years old! 

Team De Ver rider Burton clocked 1:45.3 minutes to beat Gough – trying to do the hill climb double – by more than a second.
