Core Bike Show 2012: Campagnolo, Ride, SealSkinz, Lezyne and Nectar

Having already brought you the De Rosa Protos from Core Bike, it’s now time to cast an eye over clothing from Campagnolo and Ride, gloves from SealSkinz, pumps/lights from Lezyne and nutrition from Nectar.

Campagnolo’s clothing range is split into three collections: heritage, challenge and tech-motion. As expected, everything that falls under the heritage banner shouts Campagnolo, playing on the Italian component manufacturer’s rich history. They have been around since 1933, after all. Pictured here are two items from the new spring/summer collection. On the left is the James Full Zip Jersey S/S, while on the right is the Evandele Half Sleeve Jersey S/S. Both jerseys, available in six sizes and a range of colours, are made from a breathable polyester with Polygiene treatment, which is said to provide permanent anti-bacteria and anti-odour protection.

The Ride Mountain Project celebrates some of the great climbs in the Tour de France’s 109 year history, with Ventoux, Tourmalet, Hautacam, Galibier and Alpe d’Huez featuring across the t-shirt range. Four sizes are available and the t-shirts retails at £24.99 from www.ridebosh.co.uk

We’ve been impressed by gloves from Sealskinz in the past so these caught our eye. The new waterproof gloves are designed specifically with road cyclists in mind, with a leather palm for grip and fleecy lining to help keep your fingers warm. They’re thin, too, so should let you keep a good hold on the ‘bars.

The chaps at Upgrade Bikes told us that all Lezyne’s pump hoses now come with the company’s Air Bleed System, a small button on which depressurises the hose to make for easier removal.

We’ve also got news from Lezyne regarding their lights range. They moved into that market last year with a three-light range targeted at commuters (read our review of the 150 Lumen Mini Drive here and the 450 Lumen Super Drive here) and they went down a storm, so Lezyne are now working on a range of more powerful torches – pumping out more than 1,000 Lumens, we’re told – perfect for night riding and mountain biking.

Heard of For Goodness Shakes? The brains behind the popular recovery drink have launch Nectar with the aim of simplifying hydration. Nectar is a thick liquid/gel diluted with water to create a sports drink. It comes in a two litre tank – one pump creates a hypotonic drink (for short, hot or low intensity training sessions), two pumps makes an isotonic drink (for standard training or racing) and three pumps rustles up a hypertonic drink (for sprint sessions or interval training). Nectar launches with two flavours, light orange and lemon lime, while 50ml sachets are also available to take to races/sportives or to carry in your jersey pockets.
