Solo launch its Lugged Bib Shorts later this year
New Zealand-based Solo clothing company has until now produced a smart range of jerseys and accessories, but fans of their distinctive styled clothing have not been able to add Solo bib shorts to their wardrobe, until now – Solo will launch its first bib shorts later this year.
The new bib shorts are still in development but they’ve given us a sneak peek at them. They’re to be called Solo Lugged Bib Shorts, and the idea behind their unique design came about by a happy accident, as Paul from Solo fills us in.
“When we designed them we were trying to incorporate some cool design features that would give us a point of difference. We wanted traditional black bibshorts but we didn’t want to make them ‘retro’ – from wool or have big Solo branding on them.
“So we thought about how the short and bib sections connected. I walked past my steel SLX Colnago and there they were: lugs. So we’ve incorporated some really nice curved lug shapes into the design and have called them Solo Lugged Bibshorts. Needless to say as well as looking pretty cool they will offer exceptional performance.”
They sound good to us, and should be available this October. Price is expected to be in the region of £120. They’ll be available from UK stockists Condor, Mosquito, Dave Kane, Red Kite and alwaysriding.co.uk.
