The Mpora media player used by RCUK to bring you video footage has been updated.
You’ll have used the previous version to watch Daniel Lloyd’s superb preview videos of key stages of the Giro and the Tour, and Corrine Walder’s short film introducing the excitement of cyclo-cross racing.
Now the technical team at RCUK Towers have introduced an improved player with new features.
Like – Clicking the Like button will update your Facebook or Twitter pages, alerting your friends to content you’ve enjoyed and which they may too.
Embed – If you have a website of your own, and you’d like to embed the player and its content, you can do so by copying the code revealed by the Embed button.
Fullscreen – No prizes for guessing that this button enlarges the player across the entire screen.
Timeline – The timeline now appears on the screen only when ‘hovered’ over with the mouse, removing a distraction from the video.
Three second rewind – A feature reintroduced by popular demand, but trimmed from five seconds to three for more targeted viewing of favourite clips.
SloMo – Used in conjunction with the three-second rewind, the SloMo button offers an opportunity to enjoy your favourite moments in detail.
HD Button – if the video is in high definition, this button will allow you to enjoy the superior picture quality.
If you’re using Chrome or Safari to browse the web, an additional button will appear when you press pause that will allow you to take a screenshot. Pressing this button clears all others from the player for an uncluttered image of the screen you wish to capture. Using the arrows on your keyboard will allow you to scroll to precisely the image you wish to capture.
