Merino wool has revolutionised our approach to clothing over the last decade, with a wool base layer now being the first choice for many. Without a doubt, it’s more comfortable, warmer, snugger and arguably better performing than most other rival materials.

Sugoi have used super fine 100% Australian wool for this base layer, and this is a middle weight job – Sugoi produce different densities of Merino. The 170 in the name refers to a 170 gsm fabric. It has all the benefits we’ve come to enjoy from Merino: incredibly soft next to the skin, warm, good wicking performance, and odourless.

The Wallaroo, name aside, does nothing strikingly different from the many Merino base layers now available. It’s well constructed with flat seams holding it all together and the fitted shape clings generously to the body.
