Effetto Mariposa has released the Carbocut, the first hacksaw designed specifically for the job of cutting carbon steerer tubes and seat masts.
A grit edge tungsten carbide (metallurgically bonded tungsten carbide grit on a toothless metal blade) saw helps the Carbocut to slice through carbon ‘like a hot knife through butter’, producing a far cleaner cut than might be achieved from an ordinary hacksaw. It also won’t damage carbon, since it uses a ‘grinding’ action that reduces the need for sand papering rough edges.
The 10” blade makes for a compact tool that’ll fit in any toolbox, and the handle is made from aluminium and is built to last. Carbocut with one blade costs £34.95, find your nearest dealer at www.upgradebikes.co.uk.
