Geraint Thomas will lead a strong Welsh Cycling team on the road at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow while Becky James bids for success on the track.
Thomas and Team Sky team-mate Luke Rowe will ride alongside Jon Mould, Sam Harrison, Owain Doull and Scott Davies on the road against the likes of Mark Cavendish (Isle of Man) and David Millar (Scotland).
James, meanwhile, will start among the favourites in the track sprint events, while the principality also boasts a strong track endurance squad headed by world team pursuit champion Elinor Barker.
Ciara Horne, Hayley Jones, Amy Roberts and Amy Hill complete the women’s track endurance line-up, who will compete at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome alongside Barker.
Their male counterparts, meanwhile, are Mould, Harrison and Doull with Lewis Oliva competing in the track sprint events.
And the Welsh line-up is completed by double world champion para cycling pilot Rachel James, who will partner Rhiannon Henry, and Matt Ellis and pilot Ieuan Williams.
Matt Cosgrove, Welsh Cycling performance director, said: “We have selected a team that is led by strong experienced riders, who have achieved at the highest level of international competition.
“They are supported by a large number of talented young riders who have demonstrated their ability to perform on the world stage.
“We are looking forward to competing at the Commonwealth Games this summer in Glasgow.”
