Steve Cummings (BMC Racing) has enjoyed a stunning start to the 2014 season, excelling against the clock to take second at the Dubai Tour before winning the Tour Méditerranéen.
It is in stark contrast to a low-key 2013 season, during which the 32-year-old played a key support role for Cadel Evans at the Giro d’Italia, but achieved little in the way of individual success.
And Cummings insists his upturn in fortune is down to nothing more than just a clearly laid out race programme and the backing of the BMC Racing management.
