One of the UK’s toughest closed-road sportives, the Wiggle Etape Cymru, returns to North Wales on Sunday September 14.
And to celebrate, we have teamed up with event organisers Human Race to offer one lucky reader a money-can’t-buy experience.
Rugby legend Gareth Thomas will be among the riders taking on the event, which tackles some of the toughest, rolling countryside in North Wales and one person will win entry to the event for themselves and a friend and the chance to roll out alongside the former Wales captain.
The prize also includes the new, limited-edition 2014 Wiggle Etape Cymru jersey for the winner and their cycle partner, worth £69.95.
Wales is currently proving to be a hotbed for cycling in Britain, with world champion Elinor Barker and Commonwealth Games men’s road race winner Geraint Thomas among the stars to herald from the principality.
And with picturesque roads to ride on, alongside some of the country’s toughest, most iconic climbs, it is easy to see why Wales currently holds such a position.
Starting at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse in Wrexham, the Wiggle Etape Cymru will take participants through the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley area with a timed King of the Mountains challenge on the Horseshoe Pass included.
