Bianchi have been busy this year, releasing two new models, both of which we’ve had the good fortune to meet in person.
Now the first of the two new machines – the Bianchi Infinito CV, unveiled before Paris-Roubaix in April and raced in the Queen of the Classics by Vacansoleil-DCM’s Juan Antonio Flecha – will go on show for the first time in the UK at the Cycle Show.
The show, which opens to the public on Friday September 27, will feature the Infinito CV among a host of exhibits from cycling’s biggest brands, including Cube, Specialized and Trek.
Bianchi collaborated with Materials Sciences Corp. to develop the Countervail viscoelastic lay-up used for the Infinito CV, one claimed to have vibration cancelling properties.
The range starts at £3500 for an Infinito CV equipped with Campagnolo Athena components and tops out at £5600 for one specced with Campagnolo’s flagship mechanical groupset, Super Record: two of seven builds in which the bike will made available, and which alos includes electronic options from Campagnolo and Shimano.
The Infinito CV contains many of the features now standard on contemporary carbon road bikes including a 1-1/8” to 1.5” headtube, and a press fit bottom bracket.
Despite finding favour with the ‘Spanish Flandrian’, the Infinito CV is a machine from Bianchi’s Coast to Coast range, and a machine more intended for sportive-style endurance riding, rather than racing.
Its capacity for 28c tyres (see also the BMC Granfondo for manufacturers’ belief in the comfort benefits of big tyres) is another indication of Bianchi’s intended use for the Infinito CV.
