Headwear

Modern helmets are incredibly well ventilated – but that means your head is exposed to freezing cold air.

A skullcap or headband, many of which are windproof, will provide protection against the wind and can be easily stowed in a jersey pockets when not in use, while a peaked cotton cap will help keep rain out of your eyes.

A neck warmer or buff is also a worthwhile investment and can be used to keep the bottom half of your face warm as well as your neck, and it also stops cold air disappearing down the top of your jacket or jersey.
