RCUK has been impressed with dhb’s winter clothing as put to the test through the winter. Now, as the days gradually stretch out and the temperature begins creeping up towards the realms of what we can only describe as warm, dhb has just released its new spring and summer clothing.
Wiggle has enjoyed much success with dhb, providing serious competition for the budget clothing market. The performance of the clothing has impressed so much that RCUK has struggled not to give its previous products top marks, so we’re rather keen to see what they have ‘up their sleeve’ {That’s enough of that – ed.} for 2008.
dhb are focusing on two ranges this year, Runcton and Finchdean, both value-orientated but with the latter offering higher quality materials, fit, design and features.
The Finchdean jersey uses soft touch Meryl Actisystem fabric (82% Italian made “meryl” polymide microfibre and 18% elastan), with an open-weave structure that provides high levels of breathability and moisture transportation; so you should remain dry when the going gets tough. The jersey gets a ¾ length front zip, flatlock seams, logo’ed elastic gripper tape and three rear pockets – with two small inner zipped pocket compartments to stop phones/keys getting lost. Priced at £44.99, more info
The Finchdean bib shorts have been in development for a year. They’re made from Field Sensor lycra, which RCUK has seen used in other shorts with suitably impressive results. The Grey Mesh breathable bibs are really soft and comfy, their matching grey flatlock stitching and discreetly visible dhb leg gripper finishing them off nicely. £59.99.
dhb’s Runcton jersey, was a top selling jersey last year, and continues for 2008, though with a substantial price drop to just £24.99. Highly breathable Speed Concept fabric is designed into a stylish jersey, available in two colours (Light Grey and Blue). Featuring a 3/4 length front zip, reflective front and rear logo, elasticated waist, three elasticated rear pockets and a mandatory dropped tail.
For 2008 dhb has redesigned the pad in their popular Earnley Padded Bib Shorts. Priced at just £29.99, the shorts offer impressive comfort despite the low price tag, but comfort and performance isn’t compromised. There’s an eight-panel construction which you usually only find in more expensive shorts, flatlock seams in all crucial contact areas, and articulated lower leg seams. High stretch silicone leg grippers help eliminate chafing and prevent shorts from riding up your leg.
