Taking cyclo-cross one-step further – The “Extra Exposure” night time cyclo-cross race, is the latest event on the racing calendar. Taking place towards the end of the season, the event is sure to be a must to all those with “end of season” form. It’s to be held on the 14th January 2005 at the Derby County Cricket Ground, Racecourse Park, Derbyshire. The event will take place in the dark (rather obvious that one…) with only the start/finish area and the pits being flood lit. All riders will need sufficient lights on the bikes to ensure they can negotiate the course at race speeds. The fast flowing course, with its short run-ups will provide riders the opportunity to show who’s number one. The guys from Exposure Lights will be on hand with the latest innovation in bike lights. Exposure Lights are lightweight, cable free and powerful enough to navigate the trickiest of courses. Lights will be available to hire but pre-book to avoid disappointment, riders without sufficient lights will be unable to start. During the afternoon there will be a coaching master class for the local schools and school races. This is part of the BCF scheme, and is open to the younger members of the local community through their school. The race is attracting well known elite riders from around the country, who are looking to do battle at night. The new venue will guarantee that the racing is close and exciting. Categories: Seniors, Junior, Vets, Women (MTB welcome). The cross riders to shine through – open event. Event restricted to 50 riders, pre-enter to avoid disappointment.
