Mavic launches new autumn/winter clothing range – new jackets, water resistant bib tights, reflective shoes and more

French brand updates range with emphasis on reflectivity, safety and integrated tech

It’s that time of year where brands are refreshing apparel lines, and Mavic have joined the party with the new range of road-specific autumn/winter clothing – designed for the “passionné” riders among us, apparently.

Headlining are a series of fresh products, including five new pieces in the top-line Cosmic range that are designed to help riders get the most out of winter training and “get those base miles in”.

Mavic may be best known for its wheels but there’s also a complete range of clothing

First is the £230 Cosmic Pro SO H2O jacket, which features a new treatment that gives it a 20,000mm waterproof rating, as well as remaining breathable, according to Mavic.

Other standout features include an elongated storm flap, race-style ergonomic fit and a pocket layout which includes a clear-paneled window to be used in tandem with Mavic’s Vision app. If you’re not familiar, the app displays on an outward-facing screen of a smartphone and lets other road users know when you’re decelerating or turning.

The £230 Cosmic Pro SO H20 is said to be both waterproof and breathable

There’s also a new Cosmic Pro H2O Vision jacket (£265) – a water resistant mid-weight softshell garment that features the same transparent Vision window, along with additional reflective panels on the chest, arms and over the pockets to help boost visibility.

Meanwhile, there’s also a new Cosmic Pro Thermo bib short (£130) in the range that has a DWR treatment to help make road spray and rain bead away, along with a new Cosmic Pro Wind bib tight (£165) and Cosmic Pro Wind long-sleeve jersey (£140).

Women-specific garments have also been launched, with the Sequence-branded Convertible jacket (£130) with adaptable sleeves, Thermo jacket (£115), bib tight (£115) and non-bib tight (£90) for cold weather riding, alongside a long sleeve jersey (£85).

Key accessories have also seen a refresh, including a ‘Cold Ride+’ long sleeve base layer (£65) in both male and female fits, complete with merino wool blend fabric, and two pairs of wet-weather-specific shoes.

First there’s the new Cosmic Elite Vision CM (£150), which features a water repellent and black reflective upper, plus you’ll also find the Ksyrium Pro Thermo shoe-booty hybrid (£180), featuring a fully insulated outer and Gore-Tex fabric to at least try and keep out the worst winter can throw at you.

A new helmet – the Cosmic Pro Vision – is also available for £149, and sees reflective detailing introduced to help boost visibility.

Additional accessories propping up the range include a new Cosmic Pro Wind glove complete with touchscreen-ready fingers, and wind and water resistance, as well as a skull cap, neck warmer and headband.
