A two-way jacket? That’s right; wear it into work on the bike, then turn it inside out for a silvery-grey waterproof alternative to the ‘hi vis’ appearance of regular cycle commuting garb. The jacket is Gore Bike Wear’s new Cosmo Hi Vis Commuting, a development of the plain old Cosmo that will be sold exclusively through Evans Cycles from December.
The cycling side of the Cosmo features black Gore-Tex Performance Shell fabric with contrasting hi-visibility yellow panels on the arms, shoulders and back. Reflective piping adds to the visual effect of a jacket tailored to fit the cycling posture.
The obverse of the fully seam-sealed garment also boasts reflective piping on the arms and is coloured to match the stowaway hood. Both sides feature a zippered single pocket on the outside of the right breast plus zip access to the single pouch concealed in the rear flap. A draw cord around the bottom hem plus Velcro tightening straps inside and outside both cuffs keep things snug.
Machine washable at 40degC, the Cosmo can be tumble dried or dry cleaned to preserve its crisp good looks.
