Ibera RideBot multi tool/bike stand

Ibera RideBot in action

Due to be unveiled at the the Taipei International Cycle Show, which runs from March 17th to 20th, Ibera’s RideBot looks at first glance like any other large multi-tool. However, there’s more to it than most, for a simple twist of the wrist transforms it into a bike stand.

Anyone who has looked in vain for a lamppost or a fence against which to lean their bike will bemoan the fact that quality bikes don’t generally come with stands.

Short of attaching a clunky kickstand to the chainstays or lugging a stand around in your backpack, RideBot is the solution to the bicycle in need of a stand. The RideBot, without extra weight or bulk, turns into a portable bike stand in seconds. It is placed under one pedal and acts like a block to support the bicycle.

In addition to functioning as a portable bike stand, the RideBot is a fully-loaded 11-function multi-tool weighing a scant 185g and incorporating two detachable tyre levers, seven Allen keys (8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.5 and 2 mm), flat-head and Phillips screwdrivers and a Torx T25 driver.

There is, of course, a small difficulty; what happens when you wish to support the cycle while working on it?
