Kask
Another new helmet, this time from Kask. The Protone was first spotted on the heads of Team Sky riders at the Tour de France but now it’s available to the public.
The Protone was developed in conjunction with Team Sky as a helmet designed to combine low weight and plenty of ventilation in an aerodynamic design, as opposed to the Infinity, which has a predominantly closed design and a more obvious aero aesthetic.
While there are large vents at the front, sides and back of the helmet, designed using Computational Fluid Dynamics, the top has a smooth, wind-cheating surface. The Protone is available in a range of colours, including the Team Sky-inspired blue pictured above, for £195.
Now for Ritte…
