There’s no surer sign of the season’s change than the delivery of the first consignment of winter kit at RCUK Towers.
We’ve been sent the modestly-titled Excellence jacket and bib-tight from the Elite range of clothing by French brand LOOK, whose bicycles are among the finest we’ve ridden. How then will the clothing compare?
Both garments are made from Resistex® fabric, one with carbon threads in the weave, and with claims to dissipate the body’s electrical activity and so reduce premature muscle fatigue.
More? Well, LOOK are claiming a 12 per cent reduction in the concentration of the wearer’s lactic acid concentration, and a reduction in heart rate of 4 beats per minute compared to a rider clothed in polyester.
Impressive claims. Will they stand up? We’ll be finding out in the weeks ahead. For now, we’ll take a close look at each garment, its tailoring and features.
