The LOOK WinterFall glove is warm and comfortable, with a soft, insulating lining and deep cuff that ensures the entire hand is protected from the elements.
Despite the moniker, we found ourselves reaching for the WinterFall glove on the coldest days, typically those of five degrees and below. In such conditions, the super soft internal lining, brushed to a light fleece, provided excellent insulation.
The deep cuff provided another effective barrier against the cold. The broad, Velcro tab offered a close seal and easily fitted over the sleeves of the jackets with which we tried it (the LOOK Excellence Jacket and Endura’s Adrenaline race cape).
The synthetic leather palm proved suitably grippy, as did the silicone surface of the fingers. The suede-like backing to the thumb made an effective nose wipe.
Incredibly, we haven’t yet had a wet day in which to test LOOK’s claim for water resistance, courtesy of a Hipora membrane. We’ll update this review when we have.
We’ve worn gloves with greater ‘feel’ but those haven’t offered the same insulation. Endura’s Equipe Thermo Windshield glove, for example, our default selection in temperatures to about five degrees, offers greater dexterity, but is not as warm.
The LOOK WinterFall glove is an excellent glove for the depths of winter and one we’d recommend to riders seeking to stave off the lowest temperatures of the season.
