Step down a level and Lezyne’s Sport range still includes the Zecto Drive (120 lumens), KTV (15 lumens), KTV Pro (70 lumens) and Femto Drive (15 lumens), which remain unchanged, but the top-end of the range has been revamped. You’ll now find the Micro Drive XL (400 lumens maximum output), Hecto Drive XL (300 lumens) and Strip Drive (120 lumens).
The Micro Drive XL (£39.99) weighs in at just 90g despite its 400-lumen output, making it another good bet for commuters who want a versatile light brighter than your typical city lamp. It offers eight lighting modes: Overdrive, Blast, Enduro, Economy, Femto, Flash 1, Flash 2, Pulse. Run time is a claimed 60 minutes on the most powerful mode, down to 11 hours for any of the flashing/pulsing modes – see the Lezyne website for the full details.
The Hecto Drive XL (£29.99), meanwhile, drops the lumen output to 300 lumens and features seven modes, including all of the Micro Drive XL’s options except the most powerful Overdrive mode. While the Micro Drive XL powers two LEDS, the Hecto Drive XL uses a single LED.
The £29.99 Strip Drive, by contrast, has five LEDS and is a completely new design from Lezyne. It’s a compact and lightweight unit (claimed weight 69g) with a co-moulded lens/body construction, compatible with both aero and round handlebars. The Strip Drive has six flashing modes, including a high-powered one designed specifically for daytime riding, which, like the Bontrager Flare R, seems a sensible idea to us. There are also steady-state Blast, Enduro and Economy modes to make for a sleek-looking and versatile light.
The Strip Drive is also available as a 25-lumen rear light for £29.99, while the Strip Drive Pro ups the lumen count to 100 lumens for an extra £10 at £39.99. Read on for more details on those.
