New Assos summer clothing

News from Assos on the release of some new summer clothing: though summer may seem a long while off yet, that doesn’t deter the clothing company from planning ahead.

The F1.Uno_S5 shorts use the company’s latest evolution chamois and replace the outgoing Halfshorts. The six-panel bibless design is ideal for those who prefer the flexibility that forgoing bib straps provides.

They’re available in his and hers shapes and sizes and various colours.

Next up is the sJ.13 luftSchutz windbreaker, a lightweight shell that’s compact and designed for keeping out the cold, wind and light rain. One to have stashed in a pocket at the ready for when the weather turns, or for coming back down the Galiber after you’ve just grovelled up. Coming in black or white and six sizes.

For many cyclists the time trial season is the first opportunity for competition. Just in the nick of time, Assos has released the CS.Uno skin suit. It’s pre-shaped to the extreme aero position one adopts on a time trial bike, and each panel is designed to sit flush against the body only when in that extreme position.

As Assos says: “Be very careful when putting it on and taking it off. When standing upright, it is very uncomfortable. That is normal. But once you get on the bike and assume the “time trial position”, then the Starbust Stradale clicks onto your body and supports your mission to win.”

Inside, the short gets the new S5 chamois and, as one would expect from Assos, there’s a myriad of details including an inside mesh pocket for storing a race radio and a small zipped pocket on the outside. The whole thing is made from low air resistant Spandex combined with breathable four-way stretch panels.
