Spanish components specialists Rotor have announced INPower, a new unit that measures wattage from inside the crank axle.
INPower features Torque 360 and Optimum Chainring Angle analysis allowing users to monitor the full pedal stroke and check out any variations in power throughout the full 360°. This will help users riding Q-Rings to orient the rings depending on the characteristics of their pedal stroke.
Rotor say that INPower can convert any 30mm Rotor crankset into a power meter, because it’s just the left arm that measures power and there will be an option to buy it separately. And the unit uses one standard AA battery, which will provide measurement for up to 300 hours of riding time.
Being housed in the crank axle, Rotor claim that INPower has a greater degree of transmission accuracy using ANT+, without issues caused by fluctuations in temperature.
Pricing on the unit depends on which crankset you want to integrate the unit with. UK RRP for the 3D+ crankset is £699, or £549 for just the left arm. Whereas the unit will be £599 in the Flow crankset, or £499 for the 3D30 left arm.
