SiS launch fresh Go Bar flavours – First Taste

The addition of Blueberry and Red Berry expands the Go Bar range to nine flavours

Science in Sport, following the launch of their Smart-1 energy drink, have expanded their Go Bar range to nine flavours with the introduction of Blueberry and Red Berry.

Each Go Bar is perfect for loading up on carbs during rides long enough to potentially deplete your energy stores, and unless you’re planning a cake stop, offer an easy and tasty alternative to a slab of lemon drizzle cake. Though that’s probably debatable…

What Go Bars have going for them compared to cake, of course, is that they’re based on extensive scientific expertise and much testing at the highest levels of cycle sport. There’s also no nasty additives, just good honest natural ingredients. They’re low in fat too, just 3g per bar, with 42g of carbohydrate (for the choc orange flavour) and 225 calories. There’s also a generous 7.8g of protein.

Along with the introduction of the two new flavours, SiS have adjusted the ingredients a touch to make them a bit softer; our initial sampling backs this up. We’ve always been fans of Go Bars but they’re now easier on the teeth with a chewy, if slightly sticky, consistency.

The Chocolate and Orange flavour has always been our pick of the bunch but the two new flavours do hit the spot, with a refreshing taste that is unlike any other flavour energy bars we’re previously tried.

More feedback on the new bars once we’ve gobbled a few more.
