Identical in construction, weight, operation (with additional cassette option) and technology to the original RED groupset, SRAM’s newly-unveiled Black RED group has a black finish designed to offer additional possibilities for visual coordination with many of the latest frame colour schemes. It follows the release in small numbers of the Limited Tour Edition RED groupset in 2010. Black RED graphics are in silver.
The groupset includes Double Tap dual control shift levers, front and rear derailleurs, “Skeletonized” dual-pivot brake calipers, RED CNC-machined cassette with LTE-style 11-28t option, carbon fibre crankset with black anodized chainrings and choice of BB30 or GXP threaded axle format, ceramic bearing bottom bracket and chain.
Prices are yet to be confirmed but are expected to be as for standard RED. The groupset is expected to be available by March 2011.
