Sugoi’s has launched its Spring 2010 (seems a long way off to us) clothing range, and making an noticeable appearance is the development of compression fabrics in several garments.
The company’s Race+Recovery (R+R) range uses what it likes to call Piston fabric technology, a polyamide-based material that is claimed to offer the lowest weight per square inch available in warp-knit compression fabric. Along with PowerKnit process, 3D ergo fit panel Zone Construction™ and using an ultrafine 36-gauge knitting process, Sugoi is confident the new lineup will provide outstanding performance and decreased recovery periods.
Different levels of compression material are used on the upper and lower body. For the arms Piston 140 Arm Sleeves (£30) and Piston 200 Leg Sleeves (£40).
The RS range, the company’s top-end clothing, has been advanced with the RSE (Racing System Equipment) collection. The RSE Bib Shorts (£110) are made from Ultra Profi fabric with 10 panels providing a good fit with an FXE chamois, a seamless tri-density foam pad with anti-microbial properties. A women’s version is also available.
The RSE Jersey (£70) is 3D anatomically designed with zone construction technology using lightweight Gobi fabric for performing in hot weather. Flat seams ensure good comfort, there’s three elasticated rear pockets and a full-length zip.
