Ultimate Christmas wish list

Ask anyone in the RCUK team what they want for Christmas, and you’ll get an array of responses, and the argument for the ultimate one gift certainly led to a heated debate. So, to settle things, we put our heads together and here’s a list of some stuff that the RCUK team would be more than happy to recieve.

2. Endura Overshoes £19.99
Neoprene overshoes for the ultimate in dry toes. Rear zip makes fitting a doddle, with a Velcro heel tab to keep everything fitted snugly. The logos are reflective, with additional strips running vertically down the back.

For keeping your toes snug and cold this Christmas, you can’t beat a pair of woollen items. No, we don’t mean a thick pair of knee high socks like your gran gives you every year, but a pair of Rapha’s finest Merino socks.

1. FSA Plasma Intergrated Bar and Stem £389.95
FSA are experts at making things out of carbon, and this integrated bar and stem is their latest product. Ergonomic flat tops with ergo drops, internal cable routing and reinforced and textured clamping areas. Weight: 384g.

2. Park Tool Advanced Mechanic £275
Just the job for essential maintenance on your bike this winter, with 32 workshop quality tools for every job.

3. Rapha Winter Jersey £125
This long sleeve jersey keeps you warmer than a very toasty thing. The Sportwool fabric is 70% polyester, 26% wool and 4% elastane, and is perfect for these clear cold days we’re being treated to quite a lot at the moment.

4. Specialized Toupe Team saddle £79.99
The Toupe, with it’s Body Geometry technology, has long been a favourite amongst the RCUK team. Now it’s been updated, and is available in a range of colours, so making that last colour coordinated touch to your pride and beauty should be possible.

5. Exposure Race Turbo £265
Riding through the winter can be made much easier and nicer with the Race Turbo. Two 5W LED’s kick out plenty enough light for quiet country lanes and making sure motorists spot you. The NiMh battery should last between 4hrs and 1hr, depending on which of the four settings you use. Handily, for commuting tasks there’s a flashing mode.

6. Apple Ipod Shuffle £55
We’ve included the new Ipod Shuffle because we know plenty of us like to listen to some tunes while they ride. While it’s not always a good idea to have earphone on while cycling, especially around the busy streets of the city, they’re great for keeping you sane while you bash out those essential base miles at this time of year. The Shuffle has been updated; it’s now extremely small (how do they do it!) and packs 1gb – enough for 240 songs.

1. Scapin Ekle-R frame and fork £1,399
The Ekle-R is the spiritual successor to the much-loved Karbon S8. The frame is now handmade with custom fit just a £100 extra. Integrated seat tube, tapered down tube, carbon fork in with the price and the ROTO bottom bracket – the perfect upgrade for that ageing frame.

2. Zip 300 Carbon Chainset (incl. Ti BB) £549
Cranks don’t get tastier than these beauties. The deliciously smooth carbon arms and spider, made using a unique bonding process for joining the aluminium and carbon elements into an extremely strong package.

3. Sports Tours International Winter Training £455
