Ben Swift and Rebecca Romero added to Cycle Show line-up

Team Sky’s Ben Swift and Olympic individual pursuit champion Rebecca Romero are the latest riders to be signed up for the Cycle Show.

Ben Swift warms up ahead of this year’s UCI Track World Cup in Manchester

The Cycle Show has left Earls Court and moved north to the NEC in Birmingham, with the 2011 event set to take place on September 30-October 2.

Romero will be at the show on Friday September 30, while Swift will attending on Sunday October 2. His Team Sky team-mate Geraint Thomas has already been confirmed to open the trade day on Thursday September 29.

“The Cycle Show will be right after the World Championships so I expect there to be a great buzz about the place,” said Romero, the only Brit to have won Olympic medals in two different sports; rowing and track cycling.

“I came to cycling from rowing, and no matter what your background, current or future cycling aspirations are, there will be something for everyone at the show.”

The show will showcase next year’s gear, with a 600m test track to demo the latest road bikes and a 1km circuit for off-road riders.

Swift, who made his Tour de France debut in July, added: “The Cycle Show will be a really great experience for everyone attending and the fact that it has moved to a bigger location just goes to show just how popular cycling is in Britain.

“The outdoor tracks will be a great addition to the show and hopefully everyone will go home inspired to get on their bikes.”
