The Cannondale Super Six EVO – the lightest production frame in the world – is now available as a frameset, with this season’s UK availability limited to just 100 units.
The Super Six EVO frame weighs just 695g but remains “imperturbably stiff under even the hardest of efforts” according to RoadCyclingUK editor Richard Hallett following his first ride at the frame’s launch in Italy last year.
Since that launch in May 2011, the frame has only been available as part of a complete bike package, with the SRAM Red and Mavic Ksyrium Elite-equipped machine the cheapest of five options at £3,900.
Now the frame, as ridden by the Liquigas-Cannondale team, is available with a retail price of £2299.99, complete with BallisTec full carbon EVO SpeedSave fork, Sram PF30 bottom bracket and EVO 1 -1/8″ to 1-1/4″ headset. That makes it significantly more affordable than other options found in the pro peloton.
“Ask anyone and they’ll give you the same answer, a good bike starts with a good frame… and then there’s your ultimate dream bike. For that you need something a little more special. Creating your perfect ride has never been so appetising,” crows Cannondale’s press release, teasing potential customers with the opportunity to upgrade.
Like the sound of all that? You’d better be quick if you want to get your hands on one – for more details visit your local Cannondale dealer or contact Cycling Sports Group UK on 01202 732288.
