Out of the Saddle, cycling brothers Russell and Dean Downing’s charity evening, returns for a third year on Saturday October 22 at The Charnwood Hotel near Rotherham.
Last year’s event saw the pro duo joined by former national champion Kristian House, Garmin-Cervélo rider Lizzie Armitstead, Omega Pharma-Lotto rider Adam Blythe and Rapha Condor Sharp boss John Herety.
Russell made his Grand Tour this year with Team Sky at the Giro d’Italia, while older brother Dean has won seven races with Rapha Condor Sharp on the British criterium scene.
The night will once again feature a buffet, auction, disco and guest interviews conducted by Eurosport’s cycling commentator David Harmon.
This year the brothers have decided to support CRY UK, Cardiac Arrest in the Young. CRY was founded in 1995 to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to Young Sudden Cardiac Death (YSCD) and Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS).
Tickets are limited and are available through John Smith ([email protected]). For more information on the event visit www.outofthesaddle.org.uk
