Timed to coincide with this year’s Grand Depart of the Tour de France, which is for the first time taking place in London, and the very recent launch of the new Radar eyewear, Oakley and Getty Images will be hosting a retrospective of photographic imagery. The pictures will draw from both contemporary sports (Lance Armstrong going through the pain barrier) and cultural references (a boy in Basra with his bike). The ‘Tour du Monde’ exhibition will run from 5th – 28th July, and is free.
Alongside these great shots there will also be on display original eyewear as worn by Andy Hampsten, Viatcheslav Ekimov, George Hincapie and, of course, Lance Armstrong. Along with eyewear from the past you will also be able to see the unveiling of the new ‘LiveStrong’ edition of the Oakley Radar. Alongside Armstrong’s iconic shades, his actual Tour winning Yellow Jersey from 1999 will be on display.
