The BMC Racing Team have been testing a new machine in advance of Paris-Roubaix.
Former world road race champion, Thor Hushovd, was among the riders to recce the course of l’enfer du Nord.
“For me, it was to find out what I need and what we can make better for this race,” Hushovd said.
“I’m really happy and confident with the tires, the pressure the wheels and the bike for the cobblestones,” he said.
Hushovd was runner-up at the 2010 Paris-Roubaix, third in 2009, among four top 10 finishes.
BMC Racing boss, Jim Ochowicz, described the recce as a “a productive couple of days.”
“The selection of materials and the review of the course will both be a benefit to the team at this year’s Paris-Roubaix,” he said.
BMC Racing Team Directeur Sportif John Lelangue said the timing of the testing was ideal.
John Lelangue, BMC’s directeur sportif, said weather conditions had been perfect for the test.
“It’s good to do it now in good weather conditions because it was dry and it’s February so we have a little bit of time to fix everything and be confident about the materials,” he said.
“It was also good to see the roads we will do in reconnaissance on the Thursday and Friday before Paris-Roubaix.”
