First run in 2008, the Cycle Cairngorms Sportive follows, for the first time in Scotland, a two-day format for 2009 over a scenic and challenging course that takes in two demanding climbs, to the ski stations of Lecht and Glenshee(both over 600m above sea level) giving the event a truly Alpine feel.
If this all sounds too much, riders can choose to ride just Day One and finish in the village of Ballater in the heart of Royal Deeside for a well earned rest and some evening entertainment.
Entries are still available at www.cyclecairngorms.org.
The event is organised by the Speyside Trust at Badaguish Outdoor Centre, a small Scottish charity providing short break respite care holidays for people with disabilities. All funds raised will go to supporting this good cause. For further charity details please visit www.badaguish.org.
