SRAM launches three new wheelsets
SRAM announced three brand new aluminium wheelsets at Eurobike recently to complement its existing trio of deep-section carbon wheels.
The three new wheelsets use low-profile aluminium rimbs making them ideal training or just good general purpose wheels. The entry-level S27 AL Comp weighs 1620g and is aimed at those wanting a well priced training wheel.
Next up, the S30 AL Sprint is “tough and fast for serious riders,” really, that’s exactly what it says in the press release. So if you’re a serious rider, you’ll appreciate the 30mm section rim and 1495g weight.
Finally, the S30 AL Race is my pick of the bunch and weighs just 1430g. There’s 30mm ‘Hybrid Torodial’ rims and 18 spokes front and 20 rear, with a Black Diamond finish.
No word on prices yet, but head to www.sram.com to find out more. Hopefully a full review on RCUK soon…
