Returning after a break of 19 years with a Saturday evening slot on 19th June, the Aberystwyth Seafront Criteriums comprise four races, starting with Youth Under 12’s at 6pm and then Under 16’s at 6.30pm racing around a 680 metre course on the south side of the promenade past the famous pier.
After this, the north side of the promenade will also be opened up to increase the course distance to 1km for the Go Race event at 7pm and finally a 2/3 category race at 8pm, which will last one hour plus 5 laps.
Each race will be limited to a field of 50 due to the course layout. Entries are now open on the Ystwyth CC website.
The course is a challenging circuit of 680 metres for the youth races. Later an extra 300 metres of the north promenade will be opened up for the Go-Race and main event. The course goes anti-clockwise and starts and finishes opposite the crazy golf course at the south end of the Old College.
The event is supported by the University of Wales Aberystwyth, Menter Aberteifi, Ceredigion County Council and other local businesses.
