Canyon launch Young Heroes programme

Canyon are handing talented juniors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

Canyon Bicycles have launched a search for junior riders to join their 2011 Young Heroes programme – with the opportunity to be mentored by Erik Zabel.

The scheme, led by six-time Tour de France green jersey winner Zabel, is an informal mentoring project for 15 and 16 year olds from across Europe.

Each team member will receive a carbon Canyon pro bike, equipped with Campagnolo Record components and full team kit which will be theirs to compete with for one year.

Team members will also be invited to attend European mentoring and training events throughout the year.

The scheme is free and each entry will be reviewed by a panel of experts, including Zabel. A shortlist of talented hopefuls will then be invited to a get-to-know-each-other event where they can meet the team and show off their riding skills before the final team selection is made.
