Here’s an interview with Dave Brailsford, shot by British Cycling.
It’s a couple of weeks old (Brailsford mentions that the Dauphine is running) but gives an insight into Brailsford’s mindset, which appears to be one of confidence.
“Finally this season, we’re really there,” says Brailsford.
“I think we were there last season, but obviously Bradley crashed. This time, we’ve got Mark, we’ve got Bradley, we’ve got Froomey [Chris Froome].
“We’ve got a lot of riders who can perform at the highest level, so it’s exciting times,” he says.
Brailsford refers to the increasing popularity of cycling between each Olympic cycle, and says the exploits of riders like Wiggins, Cavendish, and Thomas have allowed the nation to gain respect on the road.
