Olympic team pursuit champion Geraint Thomas will lead Team Sky at the next Revolution on November 20.
Thomas will be joined by Sky teammates Ben Swift and Pete Kennaugh to create a formidable endurance line up for the championship leaders.
And, after an impressive debut season for Sky on the road, Thomas, who wore the white jersey from stage three to six of the Tour de France, insists he is able to replicate that form on the boards.
“I’m looking forward to getting on the track and racing as Team Sky at Revolution,” said Thomas, who won team pursuit gold with Bradley Wiggins, Ed Clancy and Paul Manning at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
“It’s great that the event has evolved and I think the team idea is good. It will change the way we approach the racing so we’ll all be focused on keeping Sky at the top of the table.”
Team Sky top the standings following an impressive sprint display by Chris Hoy at the first event of the series on October 23.
With the competition now shifting towards endurance, racing the arrival of Sky’s stars will boost the team’s chances of consolidating their lead.
But with Continental stars Michael Morkov, Alex Rasmussen, Franco Marvulli, Leif Lampater, Christian Grassmann and Sebastian Donadio set to join the competition, Thomas admits he will not have everything his own way.
“There are some great European guys coming over for the occasion,” he added. “But I’m just going to enjoy it.
“Revolution will be a good way for me to get back in the track mindset against some top riders. I’m already thinking ahead to the World Cup in February and this will help me figure out where my form is now, and where it needs to be.
