Giro d'Italia: stage 4 results

McEwen
Schumacher makes sure Robbie won’t be winning any more stages!

Australia’s Robbie McEwen (Davitamon-Lotto) sprinted to his second Giro win yesterday in the forth stage.

The final stage to be held in Belgium, from Wanze to Hotton, saw a sprint finish in which McEwen came in ahead of Italians Paolo Bettini (Quick-Step) and Alberto Loddo (Selle Italia).

Stefan Schumacher (Ger/Gerolsteiner) finished in the same time as McEwen, retaining his overall race lead as the race prepares to move to Italy.

During today’s transfer the riders will have their first rest day of the stage race in preparation for Thursday’s 38km TT.
