The possibility that the Good Friday meeting at Herne Hill could be the venues last, encouraged 100’s of people to show their support. The grandstands were packed and the crowd was two deep along the fence lining the track.
Over 100 racers provided a thrilling spectacle for the eager spectators, and the place erupted, quite literally, when the Triumph Thunderbirds bellowed into life for the crazy Stayers race.
