The Folowing Press release is from Team DFL…
After recent speculation about the teams future plans following recent incidents we are happy to confirm the continuation of TEAM DFL as a British UCI Continental team.
Changes have been made to the team’s roster following the incidents at the weekend involving riders Tony Gibb, Michael Scherer and Travis Allen. These riders have left the team by mutual consent along with Jai Crawford and Luke Bettany.
The management have already had inquiries from prospective riders and will be considering all interested parties. James Louter will move from the role of Director Sportif to that of Operations Director. The Team will now be focusing on regaining its momentum as they work towards earning its place in the Tour of Britain, with a build up of British races and selected European events.
Support has been received from both current and future sponsors, members of the cycling press and ex-professionals in the sport. In a statement Team owner, Nick Collins said “ The goal of starting the Tour of Britain remains a key objective of the team and our prospective new sponsor. We have created interest in the sport and offered opportunity to young British riders all of whom remain within the team.”
