Tour de France: Trek reveal custom Madone designs

Fabian Cancellara’s Spartacus-inspired Trek Madone 6.9 SSL
Andy and Frank Schlecks bikes take a modern slant on the traditional lions of Luxembourg

Fabian Cancellara will ride a Spartacus-inspired bike at the Tour de France after Trek unveiled a collection of custom designs for Leopard-Trek and Radioshack riders.

Four time world time trial champion Cancellara’s Madone 6.9 SSL road bike and Speed Concept 9.9 time trial machine feature a Swiss cross, helmet, shield and seven spears, which represent the rider’s lucky number.

Andy and Frank Schlecks bikes take a modern slant on the traditional lions of Luxembourg. In addition to the double lions, the bikes feature a decal of two hammers, which Trek say is inspired by the brother’s tenacious work ethic.

The Radioshack team bikes feature a predominantly white design, inspired by the team’s 2011 clothing.

The designs are available through Trek’s Project One custom bike programme from today.
