The Wyre Forest Stinger Sportives are the first Sportive promotion by North Worcestershire’s premier cycling club, Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club. The Wyre Forest Stinger Sportive will take place on Sunday 6th July 2008.

The event will be sponsored by Powerbar, Michelin and SA Financial Planning as well as having extensive support from Wyre Forest District Council, raceahead timing and Bioracer.

The event is billed as the Family Sportive as Stourport-on-Severn is not just a great base for the sportives but has great attractions for families too.

Routes

The event will feature 3 routes for riders to tackle.

The Family Ride at 25km is aimed at the less fit, fun riders who may have family riding the longer routes but want to have a go themselves.

The Mini-Stinger at 100km is not as hard as the full sportive in terms of distance but still represents a challenge to those that undertake it.

The Stinger is the full 155km route, so called because the early part of the ride is relatively flat but you can expect a real sting in the tail at the end of the ride. We have found you some of the best roads the Worcestershire countryside has to offer.

The Entry Fees for the Stinger and Mini-Stinger rides are £25.00, the Family Ride is £5.00.
