Mayor of London Boris Johnson and Sky, in partnership with British Cycling, will on Sunday 20 September host Mayor of London’s Skyride -a mass participation event that will see tens of thousands of cyclists enjoy traffic-free, city centre roads for the day. The aim of the day is to encourage cyclists of all ages and abilities to get back on their bikes.
Also in attendance will be multiple Olympic gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy, model and actor Kelly Brook and TV presenter Gethin Jones.
Allowing cyclists to take in some of London’s most iconic landmarks, the route will cover Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral and The Tower of London and will feature St James’s Park and the river views of The Embankment. Thousands of cyclists from all over London are expected to take part and enjoy a variety of entertainment which will include:
Mayor of London’s Skyride is the final event in a series of five Skyrides that have taken place across the country, designed to encourage people to get back on their bikes and enjoy the benefits of a fitter, healthier lifestyle. Events that have already taken place in Manchester, Hounslow, Glasgow and Leicester throughout the summer.
