Verenti Cornwall Tor 2010

Organised by KILO TO GO, the Verenti Cornwall Tor, which takes place on 16th May, is the second UCI-sanctioned cyclosportive on the 2010 UK Sportive calendar. For 2010 there has been a subtle name change; there’s no longer the word “North” in the title, reflecting the event’s partnership with the recently-unified Cornwall Council.

The long route option is the only true coast-to-coast one day cyclosportive in the UK, visiting picturesque Port Isaac on the Atlantic coast, popularised by ITV’s Doc Martin, and then, eventually, idyllic Looe on the English Channel.

As Cornwall Tor winds its way up the Atlantic coastline, it tackles Millook, one of the steepest climbs in Britain. the climb is signposted at 30% on average but in places is steeper than 1:3.  The Millook is only climbed by riders on the medium and long route options.

There’s now a gentler run-in to the finish to help wind riders down rather than up and, with many hundreds of riders on the road, there has been a general move to clearer, wider but not busier roads.

The online entry process is simple, slick, safe and secure at www.kilotogo.com.
