You can win a place on the Deloitte Ride Across Britain in the City 250 Challenge – a 250m Wattbike race alongside James Cracknell, Rebecca Romero and Paralympic flag bearer Danny Crates.
The City 250 Challenge will take place on Wednesday February 8, between 7am and 7pm, at Finsbury Avenue Square in London.
The one-off City speed test will see the top male and female win a place on this year’s Ride Across Britain, worth £1,740. The RAB is a fully-supported 960-mile ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats on September 8-16.
Every rider who takes part in the challenge will also go into a draw to win a Boardman Carbon Pro bike worth £1,999, with two runners-up also winning RAB jerseys. The fastest time set by a team of three people from one company will all win a set of RAB cycling kit.
The British Paralympic Association is the benefiting charity for RAB, with the aim of raising £1million for the BPA by 2013.
Two-time Olympic rowing gold medallist James Cracknell, a keen cyclist and co-founder of RAB, said: “The Deloitte Ride Across Britain City 250 Challenge is a rare chance for workers in the City to show us what they’re made of.
“Riding the iconic end-to-end route is the ultimate UK cycle challenge and I’m looking forward to finding who has got what it takes to join us in September on the start-line to help raise money for generations of future Paralympic champions.”
