Riders, cycling dignitaries, politicians and the press packed inside the Palais des Congres in Paris to see the route for the 2014 Tour de France for the first time.

Depending champion Chris Froome joined world champion Rui Costa, 25-time stage winner Mark Cavendish and new sprint star Marcel Kittel on the stage as the parcours for the 101st edition of the Tour was unveiled.

The race starts the United Kingdom with two stages in Yorkshire, before a third stage from Cambridge to London, before returning to France for more than 50km of cobbles, five summit finishes and just one time trial.
